Based on the Canadian Life Insurance and Final Expenses Report 2023 commissioned by Greenstone Financial Services Canada Inc., the expenses associated with death are something that most people learn about through experience, leaving many unprepared for what they might encounter.
On average, $9,197 is the estimated cost of a funeral among Canadians, which is very close to industry standards. However, many Canadians underestimate the range of expenses associated with the passing of a family member, with 73% of respondents pegging the average price of a funeral below $5,000.
